May 4, 2014: St. Mary's NoVA Consecrated and Dedicated

It is official! Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church has its first consecrated church in the state of Virginia. Many thanks to H.G. Zachariah Mar Nicholovos for consecrating St. Mary's Indian Orthodox Church of Northern Virginia on May 2-3, 2014. Special thanks to everyone who came and supported this parish since 2005. It was a real blessing.

May 2-3, 2014: Church Consecration

Our Church Consecration is scheduled for May 2 (6-9pm) and May 3 (7:30am-12pm). All are invited to be a part of this great blessing. Please RSVP here. See everyone on May 2-3.

February 2, 2014: One Year Anniversary

New Home This weekend, we are celebrating our one year anniversary after moving into our new facility.

God has richly blessed us and we have completed renovation of our altar and fellowship hall. All are invited to come and see this great blessing of God.

December 24, 2013: Wishing Everyone a Blessed Christmas!

Christmas 2013 The Vicar, Managing Committee, and members of St. Mary's Indian Orthodox Church of Northern Virginia warmly wish everyone a blessed Christmas. May the true meaning of Christmas, the coming of our Lord and Savior to save us, penetrate our hearts and transform us. We will have services on 12/24 and12/25. Come and be blessed.

August 18, 2013: 2013 OVBS Concludes

OVBS 2013 This year's OVBS was a great experience for all our children. Inauguration was by Very Rev. K I Philip Ramban on Wed evening after Holy Qurbana with the lighting of the Vilakku and brief introduction to the theme. Sessions were conducted on Thursday and Friday evenings, as well as Saturday morning. There were Bible lessons, song sessions, arts and crafts activities, and games. On Saturday, there was a cookout for the kids and a Moonbounce. On Sunday, after the Holy Qurbana, the OVBS kids had a small procession with flags and conducted two programs. Certificates and gift bags were given to all participants. Special thanks goes to Aji, Geena, and all the teachers and volunteers who made the OVBS a wonderful experience.

August 11, 2013: Very Rev K I Philip Celebrates Holy Qurbana

Our parish was blessed to have Very Rev K I Philip Ramban, abbot of St. Paul's Ashram, to celebrate Holy Qurbana during the Shunoyo Fast. Rambachen will also be with us on Wednesday evening. If anyone would like to donate to any of his charitable projects, please contact Justin or Sujith.

February 4, 2013: St. Mary's NoVA Has a New Home!

New Home After seven years, St. Mary's Indian Orthodox Church now has a home! Let us thank God for this amazing blessing. Thanks for everyone's prayers and hard work.

We will have our first services this weekend. Please note the dates/timings. There will be a community cleanup on Saturday morning. Everyone is requested to come and help get our new church ready for service.

December 31, 2012: Raffle Prize Distribution

Raffle Prize Prizes for the fund raiser raffle were distributed after service on 31st December.

First prize of 55" LED TV was won by Mr. Shaji Joseph of St Rose of Lima Church, Gaithersburg.

December 28, 2012: It's Official - St. Mary's NoVA Purchases Its First Church!

New Church St. Mary's Indian Orthodox Church of Northern Virginia, the only Malankara Orthodox parish in the state of Virginia, founded in 2005, has purchased its first church to conduct its worship and mininstries. The church is located in Ashburn, VA. Once the financing documentation is complete, we hope to settle and begin using the church for services. Some work will need to be done to make it usable for our services. Thanks to everyone who supported us prayerfully and financially! God is so good and gave us this amazing gift during Christmas time. Keep us in your prayers!

December 25, 2012: Lottery Winners!

Lottery drawing took place on December 25, 2012 after Christmas Service. The following winning tickets were selected: 1st Prize (1) - ticket 3043; 2nd prize (2) - ticket 1079 and ticket 1335; 3rd prize (3) - ticket 4631, ticket 3416, and ticket 1006. Winners should contact the church to claim their prizes within 90 days of the draw date with the original ticket. Congratulations to all the winners and thanks for everyone's support

December 9, 2012: Falling Asleep of our Father in Christ, Mathews Mar Barnabas

H G Mar Barnabas The parish mourns the loss of our Father in Christ, Mathews Mar Barnabas Metropolitan in the early hours of Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Pushpagiri. Thirumeni had been admitted at Pushpagiri Hospital for some pain-related issue on Saturday afternoon. "Kabaradakka Shushroosha" will be on Wednesday Dec 12 at Valayanchirangara St.Peters & St. Paul's Church. The Diocesan Metropolitan has called for a 30-day mourning period and fasting. We have cancelled caroling for Dec 9 and will resume on Dec 15. May our Lord receive our beloved Thirumeni in the Heavenly Kingdom and grant him rest in the bosom of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
